As the junior representative of Rho Kappa in my junior year and the president my senior year, Rho Kappa has been a major focus of mine. I've gotten to set up innovative meetings, getting Ravenwood's student body to learn more about history and culture. And I've learned that when given the chance to learn about our world, most students embrace it. With more awareness, more people can make a change - and that's why I want to work in a career spreading that awareness.

With the YMCA MUN/YIG, I've worked in multiple conferences, helped to coordinate and lead the 2023 MUN B Conference, gotten elected as the White Lt. Governor, and arranged club meetings for my entire senior year, teaching students how to write resolutions and give speeches. This has all taught me the importance of 1) learning about the difficulties people around the world face and 2) problem-solving in a creative manner to truly make a change. 

As a Bharatanatyam dancer for the last 10 years, I've learned the stories that decorate my history. Through movement and bhava (expression), I can convey those stories. Learning a new language to tell stories has simply made me want to tell them all the time, through any medium. The beauty of words has pointed me to journalism, where I could learn the intricacies of all cultures. 

Over the summer of my sophomore year, I went to Governor's School, where I performed research on malnutrition and obesity across cultures, culminating in a 20-page paper. Understanding the cultural stigmas leading to differing rates of malnutrition and obesity capitvated me - learning that even the frequency of health disorders are often determined by cultural differences pushed me to wanting to learn more.
